New York Fashionista Blogger, Ayanna of: www.YouSoPretty.com recently interviewed the artist. Here is an excerptt: YSP: "So, where do you get your idea's for designs?" CBD: "My garden and I'm a self-taught artist, so I combined my two 'loves' and began to paint on a pair of plain coffee mugs at home. I couldn't stand them being so plain. A neighbor admired them and I gave them to her. So I had to make more and I gave them away, so I had to make more..." (laughing). YSP: "But you're flowers have a quality that makes you want to keep looking at them. Why is that?" CBD: Thanks, I believe I put a little piece of my heart into every single piece I design." YSP: Your art tiles are fantastic, how did that start?" CBD: "A contractor friend had a box of blank, white wall tiles and asked if I'd like to 'do a flower' on them, so I did. I can't begin to describe the way a paint brush feels against glazed ceramic or fine bone china... awesome! I've been painting china, ceramic tile murals scenes, and sealing them with a low-fire glaze ever since." YSP:"How can people commission you to do something for them?" CBD: "Just e-mail me and we can discuss their project or gifts. I use this website as a Gallery to show some of my versatility; they can even send me an item they want decorated, (ONLY) if we discuss it first. I love new ideas and I love to collaborate with my customers." YSB:"Something tells me you're going to be VERY busy from now on."
